ya_chin.jpg

Ya Chin Chang (張雅琹) (she/her) is a visual artist whose work is inspired by everyday objects and moments, incorporating whimsy and nostalgia. Her oil paintings, graphite drawings, and mixed media sculptures are anchored in the coupling of concept and craft. As a child in Hong Kong, Ya Chin could be found talking to herself while drawing on the back of scrap paper, narrating the stories of her drawings. She put sketching on the back burner until 2013 when she rediscovered art. She attended academies in Florence, Paris and London, before arriving at Grand Central Atelier in NYC.
